Modified Hanger's Edge:  Lumber before 1969 did not have standardized dimensions.  A 2x4 could have been more or less than 2 inches thick.  With a hack saw or Dremel tool the Hanger's Edge stud opening can be enlarged, or all the top flanges can be removed all together.  Specify how large you want the stud size opening, or if all the top flanges should be removed all together.   A regular Hanger's Edge Tool is designed for a standard 2x4 dimension of 1 1/2 inch thickness.
